A Wonderful Church Life, Carol Chow

I was saved in high school and began meeting with the church in Hong Kong in college. At that time, I lived with several other Christian sisters and this helped me grow a lot. It was really precious and sweet living with Christians whose one goal was to enjoy and experience Christ daily. We took care of each other and prayed for one another. On the campus we preached the gospel and took care of the new believers. I believe it is Christ who kept us together in such a harmony. The longer I live, the stronger is my desire to pour out my whole life to the Lord, and serve Him. I am thankful to the Lord for the local church that has provided such a sanctified place to pursue the Lord together with other believers to build up His Body practically.

The Bible reveals that the believers are members of the Body of Christ. I have experienced the care of the other members of the Body. Before I got into the college, I had to take a very crucial public examination. I was very nervous. The sisters studied together with me in the meeting place of the local church. For one and a half months, we studied, ate, and prayed together. We even went together to the examination and then waited together for the results. In prayer, we put the whole matter in the Lord's hand. That time is really sweet and memorable to me.

I also experienced the love of the believers in the local church for my unsaved family members. When they found out my father had liver cancer, the church began to pray together for his salvation. In addition, quite a number of couples came to visit my parents even though my father did not welcome them in a nice way. Because of their unceasing prayer and love toward us, my father got saved four days before he died. Even at the funeral, a lot of the brothers and sisters in the church came to support and comfort us. This touched me so much. I can testify that through them the Lord supplied me with grace to go through that difficult time. I thank the Lord for His mercy in bringing me to the local church.

Christ is My All

When I look back at those days before I was saved, I feel so thankful to the Lord that He loved me so much that He saved me and brought me in contact with the ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee.

From their writings, I heard about the matter of God's economy in the Bible. This one truth has changed my whole life's direction. Through the ministry of these two brothers, I came to realize that my living on the earth is not for myself nor is it just waiting to go to heaven. I live on the earth to receive Christ and to allow Him to grow in me so that He will be manifested and expressed through me. I and other believers are being built together to be the Body of Christ.

Thank the Lord for the ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee that has shown me in the Bible how to experience Christ as my everything and to live in His eternal purpose.
